ADAM DEITCH Unveils Producer LP ‘SKY’S ALIVE’ via Golden Wolf Records [Re-Up for DSPs]

Best known as the living legend behind the drum kit for Lettuce, and one half of the dynamic electro-duo Break Science, Adam Deitch has once again reinvented himself as a producer with his magnificent new album Sky’s Alive, released June 22, 2017 on his own Golden Wolf Records. The LP is his first solo offering since I Get A Rush in September 2016, and the first installment in a series of solo releases slated for 2017.
First single “Sea Her Eyes” was premiered on June 14th, and the producer appeared on Electric Forest Festival (EFF) Radio to discuss the album the day it was released; Deitch then debuted much of the material for a record release party with strong solo DJ set during the festival’s first weekend.
Adam Deitch describes Sky’s Alive as “an exploration into signature 808s, lush chords, analog synth melodies and seamless vocal chops”. The venerable drummer steps away from the kit, and assumes the role of a purist’s producer for this solo endeavor, and the results are nothing short of astounding.
Beginning with the dreamy downtempo of “Run Away Today”, Deitch subtly borrows from the old to passionately create the future, ambient tones and cinematic vibes are married to inventive drum programming. Sky’s Alive is a ten-song journey into netherworlds of stutter-step riddims, scampering synths, robust bass grooves, and a slice of sultry and sexy unlike any other Deitch offering. Standout tracks include the Fiddy-fueled synth-porn “Space Drip”, the celestial atmospherics within “Flying Window,” and the Tycho-influenced “Waiting 4 U.”
Adam Deitch is no stranger to the world of electronic music, going back to his early work with John Scofield’s Uberjam, through Break Science’s decade-deep catalogue of future music. Deitch began producing alongside his father Bobby as a youth, at the same time he began learning the drums; early in his career he formed hip-hop production crew Fyre Dept. Deitch has supplied beats for two generations of iconic emcees such as Redman, 50 Cent, Talib Kweli, KRS-One, Pharoahe Monch, among dozens of others.
These days, Deitch is as apt to share the decks with a Thriftworks or Cofresi, as he is the stage with a George Porter Jr. or Eddie Roberts. Adam Deitch is on yet another upward trajectory, his passion for the art steadily shining through; one thing appears crystal clear, indeed this Sky’s Alive.
