In late March, Joey Porter is hosted an ALL-STAR funk throwdown at Cervantes’ in Denver, CO. The members of Juno What?! (Joey Porter, Dave Watts, Steve Watkins) as well as The Motet’s Garrett Sayers and Ryan Jalbert. Other featured guests this night included Nigel Hall and The Shady Horns from the Royal Family clique (Soulive/Lettuce). Later, Easter came early with an unannounced turn on bass from Jesus himself; Erick E.D. Coomes threw down for the Mile High Royal Fam Shady Biz jam! The mixture of Porter-lead “late 70’s/early 80’s-inspired, high energy, funk-disco, synth bass, electronica” mixed with the soul & funk drenched East Coast Family made for an incredible night of dance music.
